This season’s eagerly anticipated Boston Early Music Festival Concerts appearance by The Tallis Scholars promises a collection of their best-known "hits" as well as some new discoveries.
The accomplished ten singers of the Tallis Scholars -hailed as "a Ferrari among choruses"- have quite a celebration in store for us, from the ethereal beauty of Allegri’s Miserere to the plangent calm of Palestrina’s Stabat Mater to the captivating music of the long-neglected composer Philippus de Monte, a contemporary of Lassus described as the "last internationally renowned representative of Netherlandish polyphony".
Be sure to order your tickets to this concert early because with three Gramophone Awards to their list of credits as well as an overwhelmingly successful appearance at the recent June 2003 Boston Early Music Festival, tickets are sure to sell out!
