Founded in 1974, the Violin Society of America is a non-profit organization created for the purpose of promoting the art and science of making, repairing and preserving stringed musical instruments and their bows. Membership in the VSA is open to all who share an interest in the violin, viola, cello, bass and their bows, and thus reflects a broad and diverse range of interests and concerns, including the history of instruments and performers, technique, performance practice, repertory and other matters pertaining to instruments of the violin family. |

Early Music America (EMA) is the not-for-profit service organization for the field of historical performance in North America. Founded in 1985, and currently headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, EMA was formed by a group of passionate early music professionals led by Benjamin Peck, Their goal was to expand awareness of, and interest in, this important repertoire. Since then, the entire field has seen phenomenal growth in the number of performers, concerts, recordings, audience members and students. |

The National Flute Association, founded in 1973, is the largest flute organization in the world. It was founded to encourage a higher standard of artistic excellence for the flute, its performers, and its literature. It has more than 6,000 members from more than 50 countries, including leading soloists, orchestral players, college and university professors, adult amateurs and students of all ages. |
